Summary

eqd-23 may overlap with eqd-31 making one of them redundant.

We should assess redundancy and act.

I cannot reply to the group because I am not subscribed

    – eqd-23 (“every option has effective date after trade date”) seems to
be made redundant by eqd-31 (“anything deriving from
EquityDerivativeBase has effective date after start date”)

eqd-23 is true for any and all products ( inc. swaps ) eqd-31 should be scrapped, in the same way “termination date should always be after effective date” regardless of product

I do not know the other rules from memory, but suspect the same argument will apply

Discussed at the VWG today. Agreed to make eqd-23 redundant.

    – Removed eqd-23 from rules-english-eqd.xml. Rationale for removal: eqd-23 is redundant. The effect of eqd-23 is available by entailment of a more generic rule eqd-31. The change is committed to trunk (4.6 Third Working Draft)
