Summary

Altova's Mapforce does not support xsi:type in elements.

This is true up to version 2006, release 3, service pack 1.

    I spoke with Altova’s CTO on behalf of JPMorgan. His answer was that xsi:type was very difficult to support, they would like to support it, but they have no plans to support this feature.

    The 2008 Rel2 SP1 product has partial support for xsi:type.
