Summary
The capitalization of "FpML" breaks FpML's own architecture guidelines. It is also giving tools a hiccough as many tools parse this camel case into "Fp M L". A good example of this is EMF's editor.

The naming of the FpML element is historical and the architecture specification documents its special status.
The proposal to introduce new root elements in 5.0 will probably result in its removal.
If they have not been already, the problems with the EMF tools should be added to the FpML tools compatibility document.

The Standards Committee meeting on June 22 agreed on the introduction of a root element for each message type. The FpML element will be removed in FpML 5.0.
