Summary

The schema refers to "EquityBermudaExercise". This is incorrect. For example we have EquityAmericanExercise and not EquityAmericaExercise, and EquityAsianExercise and not EquityAsiaExercise.

The adjectival form of Bermuda is Bermudian or Bermudan. Bermudian is the self-designation and should be preferred.

We have had this discussion before.
The term “Bermuda” is adopted in FpML for consistency with the ISDA definitions (e.g. see http://www.fpml.org/_wgmail/_coordmail/msg00623.html)
“Bermuda” is used here as a metaphor, rather than to identify nationality or location, therefore the “correct” form is irrelevant (with all due respect to self-designated Bermud[i]ans).

Hi Harry – Andrew Parry and Karel Engelen made the same comments offline. Your point is fully accepted.

This arose from the VWG referring to Bermudan, which is incorrect. The schema should be Bermuda and the narrative Bermudian.
