473: ContractNovation message – missing information about the remaining contract

Summary

Let's look at the following scenario: A Novation takes place between three parties (transferee, transferor, and remaining party) and the custodian of the remaining party needs to receive the information about the remaining contract. This may include the updated version of the contract and the new version of the contract. This is not possible with the current ContractNovation message.

In addition, the custodian of the transferee may not know the new contract's reference. Should they default the values to make the message validate?

    Information regarding the remaining contract has been added to the Novation content:

    remainingAmount (or) remainingNumberOfOptions (or) remainingNumberOfUnits
